Paleis Het Loo is a unique location for group excursions. There is a lot to see and do for everyone: the 17th century palace, the exhibition The House of Orange-Nassau, the palace gardens and the royal carriages in the coach houses. Enjoy a coffee in the historical gardens or a group lunch in the former royal stables to make your tour to Paleis Het Loo an unforgettable experience.

A day trip with friends, family, colleagues or a club

Het Loo palace has several packages, like a guided tour in the gardens . If your group consists of 15 or more adults, you can book by sending an email to reservations@paleishetloo.nl.

There are two tours for visitors to the palace, each with its own audio guide. The stories of the audio guide really brings the rooms in the palace to life.You can listen to the audio content (30 minutes) on a rental audio device or in the app on your smartphone.

The exhibition on the Dutch royal family, the House of Orange Nassau. The collection of art and personal objects illustrates the personal lives of members of the House Orange Nassau from William of Orange to Amalia.

Willem and Mary created a large baroque garden behind the palace. It shows their power and wealth in full glory, with high fountains, impressive statues and fragrant flowers and plants. Today it is still considered as one of the finest gardens in Europe.

a royal visit for groups

Paleis Het Loo is the most authentic 17th-century royal palace in the Netherlands. It was built for the Dutch royal family, and for over three hundred years members of the House of Orange-Nassau lived and worked there. Today, visitors get a glimpse of the life of the residents in the palace that was once their home.

The palace garden is regarded as one of the finest gardens in Europe. The new exhibition (from May 2023) on the House of Orange – Nassau includes personal objects of the Dutch Monarchy.

See and do

  • The palace tours (2 x 30 minutes): wander through the rooms where the Dutch royals lived and listen to their stories.

  • From May 2023: The permanent exhibition The House Of Orange-Nassau (60 minutes): the collection of art and personal objects of the Dutch royals illustrates the personal lives of members of the House of Orange-Nassau.

  • The palace garden (60 minutes): a unique  17th century garden with fountains and fragrant flowers.The stable yard (30 minutes): a large collection of royal carriages and old-timers in the stables and coach houses.

  • The Orange trail (30 minutes): the trail through the palace park behind the palace gardens shows a romantic English landscape garden.

 

Palace Visit with Audio Guided Tour

  • Palace visits always take place via an audio guided tour. Different characters take you back in time when the royal residents lived in the palace. In their stories, the palace comes to life.

  • Available languages ​​of the audio tour: English, German and Dutch.

  • There is a choice of 2 different audio guided tours of approximately 30 minutes each:

  • The William & Mary tour leads the visitor through the 17th century rooms and shows the life of the first residents William III and Mary Stuart.

  • The House of Wilhelmina tour gives the visitor an insight into the lives of the Dutch Royals who lived at the palace from the 18th till the 20th century.

  • Please book a rental audio device in advance.

A garden tour lasts 1 hour and is available on request. The price per 15 people: € 100.00

 

Group lunch or coffee break

The restaurant in the stables is a unique location for a group lunch or coffee break. There is a wide range of hospitality arrangements.

 

Group Conditions

  • Group visits only by reservation to secure availability for your group.

  • Parking for buses is free of charge.

  • Free admission for one tour leader per group of 15 persons.

  • Tour operator rates by agreement.

For groups (15 - 100 people) we have several group packages. More than 100 people? Please contact reserveringen@paleishetloo.nl.

Visitor routes in the palace are available with an audiostories. There are therefore no live guided tours in the palace. However, other guided tours are possible. Feel free to inquire about the possibilities at reserveringen@paleishetloo.nl.

Paleis Het Loo is accessible by wheelchair. There is limited capacity on the routes in the palace, so we would greatly appreciate it if you would inform us how many wheelchair users there will be in your group. A wheelchair shuttle service is available, which can transport one non-electric wheelchair to the entrance to the gardens. If you wish to use this service, please inform us when you book.
